Nikon Coolpix P90 review

The Bottom Line

I found that writing a review of Nikon Coolpix P90 is one of the comments on the camera the hardest thing I've written.

The P90 has many interesting features, including a 24x optical zoom, a tiltable 3.0 inch LCD screen, easy to use interface and a lightweight design that is easy to use. Unlike many sub $ 400 cameras, you can use the viewfinder or LCD screen to make images.

However, the image quality of the P90 is not as good as I would like to see. It is a good camera, but do not seem to have a good placement: It is too expensive for a point and shoot, and offers the picture quality to a DSLR.

Guide Review - Nikon Coolpix P90 review

Image quality

One of the biggest drawbacks of the Coolpix P90 is its overall image quality. The photos are certainly not terrible, and most of them are at least half. , Low light images however, tend to have isolated pixels and purple edges. He seemed real trouble focusing on close-ups have.

The P90 offers 12.1 megapixel resolution. When shooting at full resolution, you can crop the photo below, which can cause some problems with the picture quality. The 24X optical zoom (26mm-624mm equivalent) can overcome some of the problems of image quality, too. However, if you need a large zoom, there are better cameras out there in this price range in terms of image quality.

Yield

The overall rate of P90 is very good, especially compared to the chambers of the same design and price. You can make your first photo to take two seconds after pressing the power button, and a plan for delays are taken reasonable.

The LCD can be weird angle, which is quite handy to be tilted for images. It measures 3 inches diagonally, the LCD is big and strong. However, it is a little easier to see, could be in bright sunlight.

Design

The design of the P90 is interesting. I found it easy to P90 operate with one hand and his main goal helps balance the camera well. The lens dominates the front of this model, making it a DSLR look, even if you can not use interchangeable lenses with it.

For a unit of this size, it is easy. It is very easy to use, even with a few buttons. However, just do not seem like the P90 has a good market segment. Its wide-angle zoom is nice, but almost better to spend a little more for a real digital SLR camera with lens flexible options and better image quality.

If you do not shoot a lot of close-ups, and you need the big zoom lens, the Nikon P90 be a good choice, though.
