Matting and framing a picture is something you can do yourself to save money. It just takes a little practice. You may not be able to the quality of work a night game, but you can create more than adequate results when matting and framing your own pictures after a little practice. These mats and photo framing tips will help you succeed.

  • Check the size of your photo printing. If it is a standard size - like 4x6 or 8x10 inches - you should be able to get a pre-cut mats to find your pressure suit. Otherwise you have to cut your own carpet with a heavy knife, as it can be with a carpet knife found, or with a special cutting mat. A thick metal ruler will help you cut a good measure, while a straight edge. With the right tools go a long way to go to help you avoid mistakes when matting and framing pictures.
  • You have several options, mat materials. However, the cheapest type of carpet is white. Make sure that the carpet is acid free. If you will cut your own mats for odd photo, it is preferable to use a cheap carpet, at least until you learn how to cut mats.
  • When choosing a frame, you can choose a pre-made frame, or you can try to build your own. If you buy a pre-made frame that even come with a piece of carpet that could fit your picture hopefully.
  • Cutting to start your carpet, use the cardboard frame average fiber and align a corner of the carpet, which, because you are already using the free edges of the diaphragm save two sections. Then to cut the carrier, so that the mat of the same size as the carrier. Ask, so the cut the canvas with the backup back to front. You do not need perfect cuts to make here, as the frame to hide the edges of the carpet.
  • Then you will need to measure the size of the photo on the carpet. Start by drawing a cross on the mat centered after finding the exact center. Now measure the hole for the photo cut so that they are centered in the frame. Measuring the bore about a quarter less than the actual size of the image on all four sides inches.
  • Copa Claro, the hole is the hardest part, so take your time. Practice on a piece of carpet, if possible.
  • When cutting the hole, make sure that you have a good legal rule or section line, and make sure that the blade runs along the carpet, or cut is not clean enough. With a clean cut here is important, because this section will be visible in the framed image. Again, with the back facing up.
  • Finally, keep in mind that the final print is matted and framed probably not exactly like what you would get with a professional, especially because you probably do not have access to the same materials with per. So, if you know in advance that you will probably not be happy unless your final product looks just an expensive store frame came, it may be best to just take this store and save you time and frustration.
